At Lakeside Animal Sanctuary Incorporated the objects of the association are:

To provide direct relief, through compassionate and high-quality care, to predominantly thoroughbred and standardbred of racehorses in various stages of life and their careers and to take on neglected, starved, mistreated, abused, abandoned, difficult cases, undomesticated equine (rescued animals)

OUR JOURNEY

Turning Interest Into Action

On the 5th of July 2014 our president and founder Diana visited Laidley auctions. Setting out to rescue one horse she ended up saving six... and so began our journey to LASI. The first was a thorough breed that came to be called Destiny. Since that day Destiny has been the alpha mare, showing all the other rescues that they have arrived to a place that will love and care for them no matter what, give them top quality feed and always have their best interest at heart.
For the first 5 years Diana was self funded, with every dollar going towards the welfare of her horses and other animals in what had become a life long mission. To be able to do more Diana established a Not For Profit Incorporated Association... and so LASI was born.
Over many years Diana has established an exceptional reputation for her dedication and husbandry towards animals, with several official organisations backing and support.
